Wreaths Across America is a wonderful program to honor the sacrifices made by our veterans. Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 1,400 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.

This year, Studdard Moving Group was proud to join in and help to deliver 5655 wreaths to the Fort Leavenworth Veterans Cemetery. Even our youngest employees came out to help and show their support!

You can learn more about this wonderful organization here: https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/

The fifth annual Midwest Supplier Diversity Exposition yielded a big turnout May 16 at the MCC (Metropolitan Community College)-Business & Technology campus.

The event is designed for minority-owned, women-owned, LGBTQ-owned, veteran-owned, service-disabled veteran owned and Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUB Zone) enterprises to showcase their products and services for free, while meeting procurement officers from the public and private sector and networking with other entrepreneurs.

Studdard and Brown & Root were given an award in recognition of a contract that resulted from the Diversity Expo that was held in 2018. Thanks to all who came and thank you for this wonderful honor!

At Studdard, we really do work every day to make sure that an otherwise stressful event is as easy and stress-free as possible for our customers. While we get lots of personal “thank yous” and testimonials, it’s particularly gratifying to be selected as the best mover in our home town of Leavenworth.

Thank you to the Leavenworth Times and to everyone that voted for us, we can’t wait to serve you again soon!

With busy season around the corner, it’s important for us to review what makes our job so important in people’s lives.  Whether we interact with them for one day, or 24 years, the essence of what we do best doesn’t change – we lessen the stress of moving. We recently received this lovely note from a valued client:

“In 1994, I placed my household furnishings in storage with Studdard.  After 24 years, I took possession of my household goods after delivery by Studdard from Leavenworth, KS to Harmony, PA.  Upon inspection of the items, I was pleased and surprised at the excellent condition of the antiques and upholster furniture.  They were in the same condition as the day they were placed in storage.  The furniture was clean and odor free.  The delivery was in accordance with the quoted delivery schedule and per price estimate.  The crew that performed unloading of the moving van was efficient and worked very hard.  They had to deal with issues that involved moving a heavy lawn tractor and large motorcycle with flat tires about 100 ft on a gravel driveway.  Chris Ruby, who supervised the unloading of the van and was the van driver, was excellent.  He was a gentleman, friendly and helpful.  He assisted me with the paperwork and with placing the furniture, so it was accessible for inspection, since it was being staged in a holding area before a final placement.  He was punctual and professional.  The internal staff ( John Crum, Alisa Guffy, and Wendy) were very helpful in answering questions about the moving details and with processing payment information.  Studdard turned a very stressful situation into a pleasant and joyful occasion.  I highly recommend  Studdard Moving and Storage for all storage and delivery needs.”

If we can help you in any way, don’t hesitate to call!

There was some special moving and shaking going on in our warehouse today. That’s because we were once again helping our local Backpack Buddies with a large shipment of much needed supplies. Studdard has been a proud partner for years.

If you’re unfamiliar with all that Backpack Buddies does for kids in Leavenworth – our friend Kim Wilkerson of Haas & Wilkerson wrote a great blog post which you can find here. If you’d like to help out or donate to Backpack Buddies, please send checks to:

Studdard Moving Group is extremely proud to announce that Meegan Campbell, our Vice President of Brand and Business Developement, was selected by the Kansas City Business Journal to be part of the 2017 Class of Women Who Mean Business.

After a successful 10 year run with Sprint where she quickly and consistently rose up the corporate ladder culminating as the Director of Brand Marketing, Meegan left and joined Studdard Moving Group in 2011. Eager to position an 80+ year-old brand for the future, she’s led the sales team to expand traditional household goods revenue, but also paved the way for growth and development in market sectors, like Office/Industrial Moving and Logistics that until that point had remained under served by Studdard.

“It was an amazing honor just to have been nominated, but to be included with so many outstanding professionals in the Women Who Mean Business program – both past and present – is humbling and inspiring.”

You can read more about Meegan in the August 25th “Special Section” in the Business Journal. If you are interested in attending the Awards Luncheon on August 25th, be sure to reach out as soon as possible.

“We could not be more proud of Meegan and the work that she has done for the company. From the entire Studdard family – Congratulations!” – John Campbell, President, Studdard Moving Group

When people think about portable storage containers, they often think about them in the context of moving. A company drops one off in your driveway, you fill it up, and it either stays there until you’re ready to move, or they take it and store it at their facility. While we do this service for customers on a regular basis, we knew that there was more that these containers could offer.

Recently, the Prison Break Soccer Tournament in Leavenworth utilized one ofstuddard-container2 our containers for their merchandise store. We dropped off the container, and they are able to keep everything packed away securely each night, and minimize set up and teardown time.

You might notice the sizes of the containers have some very striking Studdard banners on the side. In addition to the logistical benefits mentioned above, we also offer the ability to customize the side banners to whatever you want. If you’re using the container for a longer period of time and moving from location to location, these containers can become mobile billboards for your business, organization or event.
